Food Review Syamputra Razali
Atrium Restaurant, Holiday Inn
Returning for a third year, Atrium Restaurant’s signature Seafood Extravaganza Buffet is a sure delight for seafood lovers. Tuck into the freshest French Oysters, baby marron lobsters, and sliced-to-order sashimi. On weekends, the spread includes freshly-cracked snow crab legs. Local flavours are offered too, with cooked seafood dishes such as sambal zebra clams and sautéed sea prawns with salted egg. To load up on more proteins, head over to the outdoor barbecue station for freshly-grilled bamboo lobsters and lamb chop, or to the live carving station for succulent cuts of roasted lamb leg. Specially for the month of Ramadan, Atrium Restaurant will be halal-certified. The buffet spread includes dates, free-flow iced bandung and iced lime green tea. Price per adult: Sunday – Thursday: $90; Friday – Saturday: $100.
Blue Jasmine’s themed buffet spread promises a gastronomic feast; each week of Ramadan features a different halal menu based on Thai and regional flavours. On Seafood Night, dive into a medley of grilled seafood, or tuck into the lobster khao soi, a luxe rendition of the comforting Northern Thai curry noodle. Curry Night serves up a variety of local and regional curries, as well as Indonesian beef rendang and Singapore-style laksa. Grill & Roast night is a must for meat lovers, with classic roast meats like duck, lamb or ribeye. Herbs and Spices night offers a burst of flavours, with appetising delights such as tom kar gai, a spicy and sour chicken soup with a touch of coconut milk. Desserts feature a good mix of Malay kueh and traditional Thai desserts, such as kueh dadar and durian sticky rice. Price per person: $58.
